I am 40 years old and completely new to orechestral instruments, but this book is very basic, for the complete beginner. I found it very helpful, about the level of early middle school, which I imagine is its intended audience. Lorrie morgan gonna leave the light on album download torrent. It is very easy to follow and doesn't move too quickly. My only complaint is that the DVD included in the book would not play on my computer and when I tried to use a standard DVD player, it kept getting stuck or skipping parts. This only improved slightly after I cleaned the disc. If you are purchasing this version with the hopes of having your experience enhanced by the accompanying DVD, just be aware that it may not play for you. As far as the book by itself is concerned, I would recommend it, and I am pleased with its pacing and the ease with which new notes and musical concepts are introduced.

First off, this book is for TRUMPET. The 'Essential Elements 2000: A Comprehensive Band Method' is a great book for a young person who is learning an instrument for the first time. There is a fingering chart in the back of the book to make looking up fingerings quick and easy. The book starts off very basic with the parts of the instrument. The easiest notes to play and finger are presented first with exercises to practice them. This book comes with a play-along CD. This CD includes all solo exercises. Hal Leonard also offers (though not through Amazon) band sets for band directors. They are simple arrangements of music that correlate with the book. They are great for the first concert. There is an older version of this book called 'Essential Elements: A Comprehensive Band Method'. The book is purple and has many of the same features as this one, but the CDs have to purchased separately.

This is a good book with good information, and simply introduced, but keep in mind that it's a 'band method.' Lots of short and simple songs to help teach music-reading skills and not much extra information (which would come from the band director, ideally). The book's a sight-before-sound kind of method, meaning that the focus is more on reading the notation than making music, and it's designed to be used in a band where the director also teaches. If you do buy this, consider a supplemental book that is more comprehensive (a chapter on cleaning the horn, how to practice, range, discography, etc.). It's an approach that also addresses listening and music-making: Sound the Trumpet: How to Blow Your Own Horn
This is a pretty good book for beginners and has many of the essential elements necessary to begin playing trumpet, like fingerings, posture, and related basic material. That being said, more explanation of some techniques would be helpful, as well as suggestions about ways to practice, recordings to listen to, and maybe even some trumpet history. Though I recommend this book for beginners, a good supplement to it that includes all of the items listed above is: 'Sound the Trumpet: How to Blow Your Own Horn.'
I ordered this book for my daughter who lost her book that she had in middle school. This book was very inexpensive and was in great condition. My daughter is very happy with this book. We would order from this person again.
We have purchased a few other books for my son to practice his trumpet but there's a reason the school required this one. He says he has learned so much more with this one and reverts back to this one to practice.
My son is just learning trumpet and we like the easy layout format. He has found the cd included extremely helpful with his practice. The book seems pretty durable and should stand up to rough handling.
Great for first time musicians. It really lays out the fingering and notes for a first time student. We bought this for our 8 year old and he is having a blast with it!
Seems like a good book. The online site (accessible with the code inside the book) has a lot of extra content, so you can hear what it is supposed to sound like & play along. I played trumpet in school, I'm relearning to play so that I can help my daughter. We practice together, and she already had a basic understanding of reading music from choir and one (failed) year of violin. But I imagine for a beginner without someone to practice with that it would be very helpful.
A lovely beginner book, perfect for those who haven't played in a decade, or for those who are just beginning. This lovely course teaches you everything from one note at a time with practice to counting, rests, what each note is and how long it's held. In the back is the fingering charts which are clear, large, and very user friendly. This book is a fantastic starter book.
My daughter plays saxophone. At her school, they started with Essential Elements 2000: Book 2 (Eb Alto Saxophone). She wanted to teach herself trumpet, so I bought her a trumpet and Essential Elements 2000: Comprehensive Band Method: B Flat Trumpet Book 1. Within three days, she was able to belt out recognizable tunes. I'm impressed with her progress, given that she hasn't had any formal instruction, so much so that I might even spring for private lessons.

I have used this book for other instruments as well and am quite pleased with its design
By Ken T.on Feb 21, 2017
The book covers all of the information required to get started, which includes position of the lips and the proper way to blow into the trumpet. Even though I play woodwind instruments, I learned to play trumpet many years ago. After a long period of not playing and now learning to play all over again, my plan is to study each page carefully without skipping any sections or assuming knowledge of any aspect of this instrument. So far I'm learning and progressing quite well. I have used this book for other instruments as well and am quite pleased with its design.
Great for beginners. Download qgis 2.16 mac. I am 21 years old teaching myself the trumpet. Easy to follow and has everything I need.
I play tuba since the 90s. I remember my Essential Elements back in the middle school. https://treeaspen399.weebly.com/stonewall-attack-chess-pdf.html. This is still a solid book to progress from and the online mp3 accompaniment definitely helps you play along with a band.
My daughter used this a few times. Can't say it was bad. She said it was alright. That is why I gave it a 4 rating. It is good for the beginner player. I would recommend this to someone starting out with trumpet.
I found the booklet to very helpful. You start out slow playing a few notes, and then you build on what you have learned. The CD with the songs in trumpet is very helpful because you actually can hear if you are in tone with the right note. I feel this is the next best thing to having an instructor sitting right next to you. This one was worth my money.
